I tried to explain this to my brother a couple weeks ago when I said it was ridiculous that men can go shirtless like it’s nothing but women can’t because oh no boobs.
But it shouldn’t be like that. It’s society that has made breasts so sexual and something to be covered up. I see it as just another way of making women lesser people/too sexualized/feel ashamed of their bodies.
I wouldn’t walk around with my tits out because I have fucking dignity you moron. And breasts are sexy and can be fun, it’s a great feature of ours and covering them up while I walk down the street doesn’t make me less than men or mean that I’m ashamed of them.
lol wow someone’s mad. Don’t call me a moron just because you have a different opinion than mine. It’s not about dignity, it’s about men and women’s bodies standing on equal social ground. It’s about not feeling dirty about your body because you’re seen as a sexual being by everyone around you when, maybe, you just want to be seen as a person. It’s about how unjust that it’s illegal for a woman to go topless, but it’s totally fine for a man to. That right there is sexism and a kind of oppression put on women because they have a pair of fat bags hanging from their chest instead of a flat one.
I love breasts, believe me. They are a favorite feature of mine and other women, and because I love them, I want them to have the same rights as a man’s pectorals. It’s not that hard a concept.
What Captain Humphrey said.
